This is a fun series for me on a subject that I come back to every now and then. For years I have been involved in martial arts and I have a number of old books on the subject. I am drawn to many of the images in these books...sometimes for their no-nonsense techniques, sometimes for their crazy moves. Frequently, the fighters are shown in the street clothes of the time. I couldn't resist juxtaposing the fighters against placid backdrops that belie their violent actions.
