Painting Gallery 2: Figurative Work

The techniques I use to produce these paintings are the result of several years of exploration and experimentation. In an effort to integrate the content of the paintings with technique, I have devised various methods of incorporating transparency and translucency into these works. I use encaustic, glazes, collage, and other techniques to achieve these effects. The materials are layered, worked, and re-worked until I arrive at the final image. The viewer looks through the top layers to images and colors below. Traces of the process are evident and are integral to the work.
